Editorial Illustration for Georgia's Agricultural Stories

i Created a collection of custom hand-drawn illustrations for Southscapes, the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences magazine. The illustrations were designed to bring personality and warmth to stories highlighting Georgia's rural communities, agriculture, research, and local industries.

The visual system centered around native flowers, crops, farm animals, and agricultural icons, all illustrated in a playful hand-drawn style that complemented the publication's editorial layouts while making complex topics more engaging and approachable.

The illustration style combines line work with simplified shapes and vibrant color to create an approachable editorial aesthetic. each illustration emphasizes character and readability, allowing flowers, crops, and livestock to function as visual storytelling elements throughout the magazine.

Illustrations were intentionally designed as a reusable library, creating consistency across feature stories while giving editors flexible assets that could be incorporated into maps, callouts, page headers, and full-page layouts.
